When to Have Your Child
Re-evaluated
Is your child with ADHD living up to their full potential?
ADHD symptoms may change as the child develops.
There may be more that can be done to help meet their needs…and help lay the groundwork to live up to their abilities.
You know your child best. Start by asking yourself:
| Since my child’s last check-up |
Yes |
No |
| Have I seen any changes in my child’s ability to control their behaviour, emotions or mood? |
| Does my child have at least one good friend? |
| Does my child have problems getting along with other children? |
| Has there been a change in my child’s sleeping pattern? |
| Has the ADHD treatment helped to achieve an improvement in my child’s functioning? |
| Have my child’s ADHD symptoms and treatment been revisited this year? |
| Is there a time of day when my child’s ADHD symptoms are not well controlled (e.g. during dinner time or evening homework time)? |
| Do I feel I could be doing more to help my child reach their potential, such as helping with homework or adding structure to their routine? |
| Do I feel I have the necessary tools to support my child at school and at home? |
| Do I feel that although my child’s symptoms have improved, there may be room for improvement? |

If these questions have raised any concerns, make sure you talk to your child’s doctor for treatment follow-up.
